Bangkok nightlife - street stall

After coming back from Bangkok and Pattaya 5D4N trip (from 23rd April 2008 to 27th April 2008), we spent 2 days in Pattaya, 2 days in Bangkok. I would think that this is the perfect arrangement. Previously I was dislike Thailand and dare not to go there due to prostitution and AIDS issue.

But now, I have totally changed my mind after back from trip.

From my personal view, Bangkok is a nice and exotic country that I had ever visited. It is a true paradise place to go, there are lots of tourism places to visit like grand palace, wat po, cruise down chao phraya river and wat arun and so on. If you are shopaholic, then I believe that you will have a fantastic shopping over there. Shop at Patpong, Pratunam, Chatuchak weekend market……

Let’s me share with you on my 5D4N Bangkok and pattaya trip. That was my experience gained from amazing trip and hope that I could come and visit again.

How to make call in Bangkok
First day when we have arrived Bangkok airport, we are looking for tour guide because our trip is attached to a local tour arrangement. Unfortunately, we couldn’t manage to meet the tour guide at gate 7. While waiting for awhile, we tried to call the tour guide by using public phone. Due to first time using public phone in Thailand, we failed dialed up the number 0066-8140-XXXXX. We got assistant from airport helper and he told us just ignore the 0066 and dial 0814-XXXXX. We are lucky that can connected to the tour guide at the end.

First impression in Bangkok
The first impression to Bangkok was “Terrible traffic”. We almost jam about 1 hour to reach Hotel. Again, the road is narrow and the whole place is crowded and bustling. The special thing that you can find in Bangkok is you can see the 4-face Buddha, elephant statue or king photo putting besides the street everywhere, the feeling of sincere to their god and king. A well being of human practice.

Fist impression in Hotel
We stayed at Baiyoke Suite hotel which is the centrally located at heart of Bangkok and near to shopping area like pratunam wholesale center, MBK, a lots of food stall and market downstairs of the hotel. It is convenient for those shoppers. I had stayed at this hotel at 23rd april 2008 and 26th april 2008, the hotel lighting is dim and dark especially is the room door seems like haunted place. Felt horror and dare not to go in the room. The room is huge by having dining table, seats, fridge and tv, but I would think that it waste the spaces because we didn’t use it much. No doubt the room is fully furniture but it is dim inside and the air-con make a lot of noise too. That’s why the first night I was uneasy staying at there due to the noisy air-con and toilet flush. You will hear the noise clearly at midnight. Without thinking too much, i changed the room with my friend. Sorry friend, i'm too sensitive to the noise. The next day staying at Pattaya, i bought a beer and drunk for a better sleep. The alcohol contain of 7.5%, the beer have a good taste (less bitter than casbegrl).

Anyway, the good thing is the hotel provide a good environment for breakfast. We had breakfast at 43rd floor to enjoy the Bangkok view and delicious food. Not bad.

Activities at Bangkok
I would say that shopping, massage and food are the best activities in Bangkok. Our tour guide brought us to Marine park and Safari world, however I felt that the show are quite bored and maybe I have seen the show in other places like Singapore and Malacca before. So that I’m not feeling enjoy on seeing these show in Bangkok.

4 face buddha

The best thing I did in Bangkok is Tuk tuk drive. We took the tuk tuk go around Bangkok city and pray the 4-face Buddha. This 4 face Buddha is famous god in the world, she will make your dream comes true. Bear in mind that when pray to 4 face Buddha you must circle around the god by clock direction. Each face has different meaning: first face indicates peaceful, second is career, third is romance, and fourth is wealth.

Day time, you can visit to famous temple like Wat po, Wat arun, cruise down to chao phraya river, grand parade and so on. The building of temple are unique and excellent. Besides this, you may visit elephant zoo and tiger zoo too.

In thailand, elephant is one of the employee who worked for government also because they are all recruite by goverment to perform the elephant show. Elephant in Thailand never stay at jungle, they are well served and treated as god.

If you worries get bored at Bangkok, you might spend your nightlife activities at night market such as Patpong, China town, Suan Lum or go to Kao san road to enjoy the bar activities.
You will felt the night is still young at Bangkok nightlife!

Activities at Pattaya
Pattaya is a true fantastic place for those hard men. A lot of foreign tourists are here to enjoy the beauty of Thailand beach and involve in water activities like skydive, banana boat, diving or comb your hair into a string.

During the night time, you won’t felt boring because there are many entertainments in pattaya. Those entertainments putting sex into Thai tourism like Thai girl show, 3 in 1 real man show. Except Ah guo show, it is good and value worth show in Pattaya because the musical and ah guo performance are well done. But our tour guide said: when you are in Pattaya, just open one eye and close one eye. Be prepared to accept the culture there and open your mind to explore the things. Treat it as knowledge, no harm no gain. there's plenty of fun in Pattaya, just let your mind free.

I have learnt a few word fof thai language during this trip, there are as follows:

Conclusion
Good experience! I have gained a lot of explosures during this Bangkok & pattaya trip. For instance, culture and lifestyle in Bangkok, how to bargain while shopping, and eating food at street stall in China town or either night market it would be fun too.

This was a good discovery and it entered new chapter of life. Remember open your mind, open your heart when you are in bangkok.

The nude photo of former model Carla Bruni, the wife of French president Nicolas Sarkozy sold out at New Year. Many collectors wish to buy the photo with a high price, after 30 times of the estimation worth, the photo was sold to a representative of chinese colletors for $91,000 (£45,729) at Christie's auction house.

Can't imagine that the photo is so valauable. The photo was shot by photographer Michel Comte in 1993 before Italian borned Burni married with French president Nicolas Sarkozy. The initial price is at $3,000 - $4,000 (£1,500 - £2,000) but due to a lot of media interest in the print, and clients responded made the photo value increase accordingly.
