Health Minister Chua Soi Lek resigned! He has announced that he wants to quit from all government and party posts yesterday(2/1/2008) after he openly admitted that he was the one in the sex video which having sex with a 30-something personal woman in a hotel room. He is known to be a bold person throughout his political career only to end it with a bold act of admitting to the scandal up front. The whole process took less than 24 hours.
Dr. Chua made the confession; he hoped Malaysians would be able to accept his apology. But unfortunately, based on the feedback that received, Malaysians were unable to do that. This might be related to religion belief.
After that, he warned Politician be careful whenever go to a hotel, do not repeat his mistake anymore. He was quite funny and stresses that his biggest mistake was he always go to the same hotel and same room, that’s why he has been caught! He do not want to make speculations. And implore MCA members not to speculate on who did this to me. It is not a healthy political culture.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Ka Ting have accepted his resignation and mentioned that he has made a correct decision. Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi said that MCA wouldn’t be affected by this sex scandal issues, he believed that MCA can manage to solve the issue and they will handle the election for the replacement of health minister this position soon.
Dr. Chua said that he finally decided to quit is due to most of the Malaysian unable to accept his fault and him. Sadly, he was committed his duty as a Health Minister and all the party posts he had. He mentioned that people want me to quit, I have no choice.
Basically, he was a good politician so far and activates involved government posts for almost 20 years. All his efforts have been forfeits due to this sex scandal issue. In Malaysia, most of the people unable to accept this unhealthy behave. As a leader, not only need to have a good performance in working space but never forget to build a healthy image to represent MCA and country. Some people said: “Dr. Chua was a “healthy” minister. Although he already 60 years old, but he still active in sexuality activity.”
Nowadays, a lot of people are looking for the sex scandal DVD but please be warned that it was an offence to possess and distribute copies of the DVDs and that those found guilty would be charged under Section 292 of the Penal Code which carries a three-year jail term or fine or both. We must show our respect to our former Health minister Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek, give him and his family some space to settle down this issue.
